End of Fall House Season!

The very wet fall season will come to a close this weekend with house games at Pool field (U6) and Babbitt fields (U8 and U10).  Thanks to parents, volunteers, referees, coaches, and of course the wonderful kids for your patience and support.  We look forward to seeing you in the spring!

As a reminder, registration covers both fall and spring, so for those who played this fall there is no need to register again for the spring session.  If you have friends who would like to play in the spring, registration will be opening in January.  Questions can be directed to our registrar.

New Referee Certification Clinics

Classes for new referees are currently taking registrations.  For more information on when and where go to the Greater Cleveland Soccer Officials Association (GCSOA) website and read the section on New Referee Certification Clinics. Registration and more detailed information are available from that site.  There are many classes scheduled all over the greater Cleveland area, so check your calendar and find a class that works for you. If you have questions about the classes, call Mark Ruscin at 216-408-0475.

 

 

Weather Policy

EYSO's weather policy is to play in all conditions except when lightening or thunder is observed.  In that instance the field MUST be cleared until 20 minutes have passed since the thunder or lightening was last observed. It is the determination of the league, not the coach, whether games will be canceled. During a match, it is the decision of the referee whether or not to stop a match. It is the determination of the coach whether or not to cancel or stop practice sessions due to bad weather.  If there is a threat of inclement weather please consult with the coach before dropping your player at practice and leaving.

The Ohio Youth Soccer Association North, our sanctioning body, held its annual meeting and workshop this weekend.  At the awards luncheon yesterday I accepted a $2000 grant from OYSAN to help support and further develop our recreational (house) soccer program.  Treasurer John Jelenic prepared the grant application this past fall – if you see John make sure you thank him for a job well done!!  This grant should help facilitate continued training for our house league coaches as well as support any needed equipment acquisition.
